At a speaking engagement in Florida, former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev urged the United States and Latin America to support Raul Castro has he introduces reforms in Cuba. At 77 years-old, Gorbachev is best remembered as the former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) who helped introduce sweeping reforms in Russia like perestroika (restructuring) and glasnost (openness). "I believe that Raul Castro will continue in, many ways, the cause of his brother, but I do believe that there will be changes. I believe that both the Americans and Latin America should respond and help facilitate that change," Gorbachev said during a speech at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to a All Headlinenews report. "I've visited Cuba, and Cuban leaders visited Russia many times... I knew both Fidel and Raul Castro well. Fidel and I had a very friendly relationship and a direct discussion of all questions. When I was still working in Stavropol in the south of Russia, Raul and his wife came to visit as our guest, so I know Raul too."

"I think that the Cuban revolution was, in its time, a truly popular revolution. Today, the Cuban people are educated, they are healthy and they live well. I believe that they have one of the best medical systems among other achievements. I believe that we have to recognize that the revolution was the choice of the Cuban people and every nation must be allowed to make its own free choices." Gorbachev added.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT'll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WON'T GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.
The American peopl e are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

En Africa odian a USA, pero cuando hay una hambruna no veo a ningunos de esos paises que mencionas haciendo nada por ellos. USA dona dinero y comida, pero los otros nanina. Y sobre las NAciones Undidas, lo mejor seria que se fueran a otro pais que stuviera mas a tono con us politicas en contra de Occidente. Podrian empezar por mudarse para Suiza tal vez. Le informo, pues la ignorancia me parece triste, que la mayor parte de esta "ayuda" se realiza a cambio de concesiones politicas o comerciales y mas que ayuda es una especie de pago porque los gobiernos de esos paises garanticen los intereses norteamericanos en una serie de acapites. Incluso cuando se discute en el congreso este tipo de ayuda se pone de esa forma: concesiones vs dinero. Si los estados unidos no soltaran esa pasta, las compañias americanas serian sujetas a cosas incomodas como las que les estan pasando en venezuela (los estan nacionalizando) y se perderia algo asi como la Tercera Parte del Ingreso Nacional de los EU que viene de las ganancias de sus compañias transnacionales.
ResponderEliminarLe informo ademas, que casi toda esa ayuda se canaliza a traves del BM y del BID, y solo puede acceder uno a ella si cumple con los requisitos que dicta el FMI (en una cosa que se llama chequeo cruzado y que ud no entenderia de cualquier manera, pero que creame, es peor que el garrotero, te aprieta hasta ahogarte) y que incluye estar pagando al dia intereses del FMI y el Club de Paris.
Solo queria que supiera que si ud cree que los americanos son bobos, idiotas o peor aun, generosos, se equivoca miserablemente. Ese dinero no es regalado: es Invertido.

Estimado HGM, permítame decirle que Ud. menosprecia a las personas. Ud dice que yo no entedería esa problemática.
Déjeme aclararle que no sólo la entiendo, sino que la domino bién.
Sólo le diré, para dejárselo como tarea, que los DEG (derechos especiales de giro) son la figura que utiliza el FMI para conceder fondos a irrisorios intereses a los países deficitarios en su PIB.
Por otra parte, si hablamos de PIB de acuerdo con la población economicamente activa y el ingreso per cápita, NO es verdad la afirmación que Ud. hace que USA es el país que menos ayuda externa efectúa. Sí Ud. es capaz de publicar una estadísticas confiables al respecto, lo reto formalmente a que lo haga. Así subimos un tanto el nivel del blog a la vez que descartamos a ciertos comunistoides, que porfían pero no apuestan.
